General informationThe travel documents issued by
the State of Israel to its citizens (passports and laissez passer) are the
property of the State and should be carefully safeguarded.
Note that Israeli citizens are
required by law always to enter and exit Israel with an Israeli travel
document.
An Israeli passport issued to an
adult or a minor is valid for 5 years. If 5 years have passed since the
passport was issued, please contact the mission to obtain a new passport. If
less than 5 years have elapsed since the passport was issued, it can be
extended up to the full 5 years.
Applying for issuing / extending travel document can be done in the Consulate of Israel in Mumbai.

Passport/Travel Document Renewal
Procedure
Please provide the following documentation:
a) "New Passport Application” – click here to
download
b) “Registration for an Israeli Citizen staying abroad” – click here to
download
c)Your
old passport.
d)Two
updated passport photos. (5x5cm - color). NB: Please indicate your name and
Israeli ID number on the back of each photo.
Please Follow security
procedure:
-Please bring photo ID.
-Every visitor and his belongings will be required to
undergo a security check.
-For security purposes, no personal objects will be
allowed into the embassy, including handbags, mobile phones and electronic devices.
-Do not bring large handbags or suitcases to the embassy.
-Do not bring food and/or beverage bottles or containers.
-The embassy security directives apply to people in the
consular waiting room.
-The instructions of the security staff must be obeyed at
all times.

Extending Procedure Please provide the
following Documentation:

b) Your passport.
In case of minor (Under 18):
1. One of the parents must
accompany the child to the Embassy, provide all the aforementioned documents,
and cash fee. A passport will be issued at the Consular Section.
2. In a case where the parents no
longer live together, you will be required to contact the Consular Section for
additional information.
Renewing Passport or travel
document in the event of loss, theft or destruction
In the event of the loss, theft,
or destruction of a travel document, you must visit the embassy in order
to obtain a replacement.
1. Provide the following
Documentation:
a) Two updated passport
photos. (5x5cm - color). Please indicate your name and Israeli ID number on the
back of each photo.
b)
A picture ID (identity card or Israeli driver's license).
c) A completed declaration form about the loss / theft / destruction of a
passport or laissez passer

d) An application for a new passport, filled out and signed

2. Pay toll charges:
The Israeli passport is the property of the State. Therefore, the
loss/theft/destruction of the passport requires the payment of a higher fee.
